Dr. Elise Brandwajn, D.V.M.
Dr. Brandwajn obtained
her B.S. in Biology/Pre-Vet medicine with honors from UCSC
in 1996, and is a 2002 graduate of UC Davis Veterinary School.
She graduated with Phi Zeta honors (veterinary honor society)
and was in the top 10 % of her class. She was also awarded
the "America's Top Veterinarians" honor in 2006,
which is an award given to the top 7% of the vets across the
nation. Prior to purchasing Frontier Pet Clinic, she
worked at 2 large multi-doctor practices focusing on internal
medicine, oncology, ultrasound, and emergency/critical care.
Dr. Brandwajn prides herself on providing extremely thorough
internal medicine workups, and does not "cut corners"
when it comes to her patients' health.
She and her family
currently live in Woodland with her 2 year old son, Nicolas.
When not at the clinic (which does not leave much time), you
can find Dr. B reading "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr.
Seuss OVER AND OVER again to her son, per his request!!! She
also reads books about, and discusses planes with her son
on a daily basis. :)
Dr. Brandwajn has many pets: Cassie, a 13 year old female
Pit Bull who is sweet as pie; Merlin, a 7 year old Border
Collie/German Shepherd mix who obsesses about tennis balls
and other flying objects; Sedona, a 2 year old French Mastiff
(Turner and Hooch dog) who thinks she is a lap dog; Spooky,
her huge black cat who thinks he is a dog, and Athena and
Diana, her two box turtles (we are not sure what they think).
Dr. Brandwajn enjoys spending as much time as possible with
her family, as well as doing rescue work with animals.
Lisa McWilliams
Lisa has been working
at Frontier Pet Clinic for a little over 5 years and is enjoying
all the new and exciting things that have taken place since
Dr. Brandwajn has taken over the practice. One of the
best parts of the job for Lisa is getting to know the clients
and their families. Lisa's own family includes her husband,
Fred and their three daughters, busy, young adults; Megan,
Caitlin and Molly. The other family members include four dogs,
three of which are Labradors- Annie 9, Nate 4 (a retired guide
dog they raised) and Lotus 'Lola' 6 months. The ring leader
of the group is Tootsie Roll the petite Basset Hound who is
10. Two Zebra Finches, Carmen and Louis, a Guinea Pig, Neville
(from Harry Potter) and Mabel, a long haired demanding kitty.
The barn animals include two Quarter horses, Chic and Hermie
along with a hen house of chickens who lay delicious green
and blue eggs. Certain times of the year include 4-H
project animals- sheep! In her spare time Lisa enjoys cooking,
gardening, boating and camping at the beach. Lisa recently
accepted a amangement position at a catering company in Napa,
and does consulting work for FPC on a regular basis.
Linda Garland
Living in Napa most
of her life, Linda has acquired many four and two legged friends.
She has Duncan, a 13 year old black lab; Spice, a wild-n-crazy
Lab/Chow/Rot mix; brother and sister kitties, Minnie &
Mandarin; Mango & Payzlee, both clinic rescue cats; barn
cats Gensing & Pinyata; Chantillie & Slick, Pinyata's
kids; Gold Star, her 29 year old Morgan horse; Pepper, a Nubian
goat who is boss of the barn yard; Ms Honkel, a 18 year old
goose; and chickens, Carrie, Samantha & Charlotte.
Linda shares 'The Farm' with her husband Don, and is delighted
to share the animals with granddaughters Ena & Wyntress.
Her hobbies include gardening, scrap booking, aqua aerobics
and hitting the road 'top down' in her Mustang PONY.
Susan Mini, R.V.T.
Susan lives in Napa with her four dogs. She has two German Shepherds,
Doll & Lady, two Labrador Retrievers, Caulla & Ramla;4
parrots-two African Grays, Abigail & Gandalf, a Senegal
Parrot Suzy and a Cockatiel, Oliver. Susan also has two
goats, Mona Lisa & Rembrandt and to complete her menagerie,
two Goldfish, Cajun & Uno (the one-eyed goldfish).
Susan works as a RVT at Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael
and volunteers her time with Mickaboo Cockatiel Rescue. Susan
enjoys jogging with her running partner Doll ( the previously
mentioned German Shepherd) and geocaching, reading and knitting.
Mary Diedrich, R.V.T
Mary is very passionate
about veterinary medicine and has been working in the field
for the last 11 years. She has been a Registered technician
for the past 4 years and graduated from the UC Davis School
of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM degree in June 2007. The
majority of her time is spent studying and learning everything
she can about veterinary medicine both at school and by working
with great mentors such as Dr. Brandwajn. Originally from
the Chicago, IL area, she takes advantage of the beautiful
scenery and weather that California has to offer by hiking,
camping, and backpacking every chance she can. She lives in
Davis with her boyfriend and 3 cats: Maverick- a brown tabby;
Maneki Neko- a 3 legged black cat; and Chistery- a fluffy
little 1 year old tabby.
Rachel Hoffman
Rachel lives in Davis,
California and is a member of the UC Davis School of Veterinary
Medicine class of 2010. She has over 4 years of experience
in the field of veterinary medicine and joined the Frontier
Pet Clinic team in the summer of 2006. When she is not studying
or working, Rachel enjoys spending time with her two cats
Brie and Chloe, and her dogs Molly and Duncan.
Mandie Swiger
Mandie has been here
for almost four months as a Kennel Tech and LOVES her job.
Her passion has always been to work with animals and she feels
fortunate to finally get the chance. Mandie thinks our clientele
and our patients (your pets!) are the absolute BEST!
She is really enjoying taking care of the pets and learning
new things. Mandie has a Pit Bull puppy, Lincoln and a kitty
named Shorty. Her house also includes Chester the Guinea
Pig and a fish named Castro.
Catie Paolazzi
Catie has been working as a Kennel Tech and Assistant
for almost two years now. She and her husband Justin are
kept busy with Giovanni, 5 years old and Madilyn, 3 1/2 months
old.
The four-legged critters that keep them busy as well include:
Boxers- Ronin, 5 years old and Izabella, who is 2 years old.
The senior citizen of the group is Socio, a Border Collie/Australian
Shepherd cross and he is 13! The felines total 6 and are called,
Perdita, George, Hunter, Callie, Sterling and Missy. Giovanni
helped to raise these kitties as they were born at home. In
Catie's spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, walking the
dogs and reading with Giovanni, who is learning to read himself!
